The 2016 Great Aloha Run is coming to Honolulu over Presidents' Day Weekend. For over three decades, this race has been drawing thousands of runners from around the world. The weekend kicks off with a runner's expo from February 12 to 14, then culminates with The Kaiser Permanente Great Aloha Run Expo (KPGAR) on February 15, 2016 that takes off through the streets of Honolulu.
For the best hotel accommodations for runners and spectators alike, book a well-equipped room or spacious suite with an ocean view at our Holiday Inn Resort. Experience the beauty and charm of Waikiki Beach in a location just a short ride from the starting line at Aloha Tower.
The 8.15-mile course travels across Honolulu winding its way from Downtown, through the historic harbor, along the Nimitz and Kamehameha Highways, until finally reaching Aloha Stadium. It's a fantastic way to experience the city as you pass each mile and soak in the roar of the crowd. It's an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Even if you're not running, you'll have a fun time just soaking in the atmosphere of the race. There are live bands playing Hawaiian music, DJs spinning their favorite records, and even cheerleaders to help keep the runners going strong. And don't forget to embrace the race's motto: "Ke kukini me ke aloha pau‘ole" — the race with compassion and love.
