There's more to island fashion than muumuus and Hawaiian print shirts. Island style gets sophisticated during Honolulu Fashion Week, taking place this year from November 10-12. Designers from the Hawaiian islands, the US mainland, and the rest of the world will display their new looks at the Hawai'i Convention Center. Models will strut runways, while the marketplace brings fashion to the general public.
This is the third year of the event in Hawaii. Honolulu Fashion Week kicks off on 11/10, with shows highlighting Asaf Ganot's luxurious men's athleticwear, followed by a Neiman Marcus showcase of the many top designers they market. Day 2, Friday, sees the runway taken over by local designers for three shows, then ending with an international show highlighting designers from destinations served by Hawaiian Airlines. The final days is again filled with shows from local designers.
Throughout the show, the marketplace will feature more than 50 local Hawaiian vendors with clothing, jewelry, handbags, and other fashion and home accessories. Admission to the marketplace is free, so you don't have to miss out on style even if you can't get tickets to the runway shows.
There's also plenty of additional style in stores around Honolulu. The ABC Stores feature many local fashion, jewelry, and crafts products. You'll find one in the International Marketplace just steps from the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber. We're also just steps from the Royal Hawaiian Center, which is one of the island's biggest shopping sites, and just two miles from the Ala Moana Shopping Center. When you stay at our Waikiki beach hotel, it's easy to fill your bags with island style during Honolulu Fashion Week or the rest of the year.
